Early Handworked, Carved Oak Bench
Made by Mason Manufacturing Co.-founded in 1919 by Frank Mason. Later, in 1929 with his son George they began their successful Monterey line for which they are known. This is an early work. Dark color, solid oak, all hand made. Textured with Aze marks and design carved into the front seat stretcher. Arches, through tenons, keyed. Unmarked, however, I had a signed bedroom set which was made identically to this work-finish, Aze marks, carved. 57″w x 21″d x 48″h.
